drop in pistons hp rating

ok i got a heads and cam car and i did drop in pistons also that was built for na. now that i got the forged pistons i was thinking about supercharging the car. how much power would the car hold with drop in pistons and stock rods?

Some tuners have said that the stock rod gets questionable around the 800whp mark. I talked to Vengeance Racing about this about 2 years ago so their stance may have changed but they told me they make it to the 800 mark and start bending. Why didn't you do rods while you were in there for everything else?

If you did NA pistons then that will affect your ability to boost the car at certain point, assuming you’re after big power. Octane becomes an issue due to the high CR of NA setups.

Stock SS compression is higher than LT4, so you may need to be careful about detonation if you don't go with a high octane fuel. Were the ring gaps enlarged when they dropped in the pistons?

What did your engine builder say about the boost idea?

Run Ethanol and you will be fine with stock compression and boost. The larger cam likely reduced your dynamic compression a lot.

What are the specs of your cam?

9.5 degrees of overlap is a bit much for a boost application. That cam will bleed off boost requiring to spin the supercharger harder reducing efficiency and creating more heat.

So, let’s see:
1. Questionable cam selection (in terms of a boosted application)
2. Stock rods
3. Pistons with stock compression ratio
4. No mention of upgraded fueling to run E

If this combo goes full send, please remember to YouTube it at least.
