Minimum Open Trailer Size

What is the minimum open trailer size for towing our cars? 7ft wise or 8? 16ft or do I need to go bigger? I am in the market to buy a car trailer if I come across a good deal.

I have a 18x8 Big Tex, 16' deck with a 2' dovetail. I think she sits perfect on it, I wouldn't go any more narrow or shorter with how heavy and wide our cars are.

I have a 16+2 Diamond C and it pulls like a dream. If you're thinking about a tilt trailer, measure between the frame with it tilted to make sure the front tires will clear. Been there, had to drive over blocks for it to clear.
