Hi Jay,
If you shut down in Sport mode, it will restart in Sport Mode. |

Change in the default setting on Settings link on dash, Settings and then it should stay.

Note: When you kill the engine you will see the dash display switch to T from S before the dash display shuts off. Don't worry if you were in S before you stopped the engine - it will start in S the next time. Now if you want to customize what you want full time such as Track for exhaust and Tour for steering as examples then you can go into the menu options and set it up that way. Lots of options here.

I turn it off in Sport...it starts up in Sport. However, if I shut down in Snow/Ice or Track...it will restart in Tour. |

im guessing this is for safety reasons maybe track allows more slippage on traction control.

Most likely for EPA ratings. The car has to start in the way that won't alter the fuel economy ratings listed on the window sticker. Ice and snow starts off in second gear I believe, and track holds gears and revs longer altering the rating.

its for liability, they dont want a wife/friend jumping in the car and experiencing a track setting, unknowingly....
this was said by the vette engineers at a tech session at the corvette musum get together in 2015 or so.... |

I also noticed that while in Track/PTM modes, you cannot engage cruise control. I'll bet for similar reasons. |

I would assume they're talking about going into the menu and locking the exhaust/steering/suspension mode settings in Sport mode. Which only works up to a point, since the throttle response (maybe the automatic transmission behavior as well?) can't be locked and will revert to Tour or Sport.
