Tuning Dilemma 2010 2SS

Hey Guys!

I was finally able to purchase my dream car some months back. It's a fully loaded 2SS with only 15k miles, garage kept with one owner. When checking the engine bay, I realized that it has a CAI and BBK LTH. Everything else seems to be stock.

When I purchased the car and took the 2hr drive home, I noticed that it had kind of a rough idle and hesitated a little bit at accleration. When downshifting, it almost kind of felt and sounded like like something was clogged coming from the passenger side. Later during that week, the CEL came on but disappeared after I swapped the battery.

A few days later, the CEL came back. I had the code read and P0420 and P1133 came up. They said it was the o2 sensors and cat. I had the o2 sensors changed...the CEL came back the same day...$360 down the drain.

I started coming here and reading through some of the posts and it seems like the tune is the issue. I've been seeing that a lot of people who add LTH have the same problem. Where my dilemma comes in is if I should purchase a handheld tuner like SCT or Diablo or have it tuned by a shop. I took it in today to a tuner who confirmed that's what the problem is but they're asking for $800 for a tune.

For those who have done an email tune, around how much did it cost you for everything. (The tuner and the tune itself) And what's the best route to go for the tune and tuner for these cars. I'm familiar with the process as I tuned both my Challenger SXT and RT when I had them. At this point, I'm looking for the best options money-whise.

Basically, you have 2 options.
You can either buy attachments for rear O2 sensors that eliminate cel or you can turn to local tuners (Dynosteve, JRE), buy their SCT performance package and you'll be fine.

I don't know about JRE, but with Dynosteve you get free lifetime tune updates.

You can find the prices of their services on their websites

I know inflation is up but $800 for CAI & LTH sounds outrageous. Around here it is (or least was) $400 for FI tune.
