Could GM built Gen 6 and Gen 5 Camaros in the same year?
With the success in sales and it being more and more recognizes as good driver's car, could it be done?
I'm wondering If GM could continue to build the Gen 5 Camaro while still making a new 6th gen model car? Since the 6th gen will be manufacture along side the Cadillac plant, could GM decide to continue to make the 5th Gen at the Oshawa plant for another year as least? Think of VW, They still manufacture the same 1964 Beetle in Brasil and make also the new Beatle for other markets. Humm.. food for thoughts.

'Could ' it be done? I don't see why not, they're built it two completely separate factories.
'Would ' they? not a chance in heck. |

Perhaps if the design would separate the 2 models so much there might be A chance but if it's just the same but different it wouldn't be.

It doesn't strike me as impossible that there could be some brief period of overlap (a month or two?) where the 2015 and 2016 are both being built at their respective factories.
But an Impala-type situation wherein the new and 'classic' Camaros are simultaneously available for a year or more? No way, no how. |

They might do something similar as they did in 2007 with the silverado. had both body styles as an 07.
Keeps the money coming in, no hault in production or revenue.

Yes they could, no they won't. However I believe the 5Gen will be built farther into 2015.

I could definately see it happening with the Z/28 and/or ZL1, and possibly the convertible as well. Thats what they did with the CTS, when the new generation came out they kept building the 'special' ones (Coupes and -V's) until this past summer (I think thats when they ended, could be wrong).
That said, I don't think its overly likely that they'll do it but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Agreed with right above.. The Z28 and ZL1...I don't think will change in 2016.. It's like what BMW did with the M3, the other 3 series would change but the M would stay behind. I don't think the Lexus IS-F changed over into the Gen 3 either yet..
