Two different cars really, not a fair comparison but for S&G here ya go.
I had a 16 C7 M7 stingray with an A&A supercharger made 570 RWHP. So power wise it's right inline with the ZL1. The ZL-1 has allot more torque on bottom due to the roots style blower vs the centrifugal blower. The ZL1 loves the corners but so does the vet, except for the vet you can most certainly feel the lower center of gravity. Both love to go fast and can handle the curves to your liking, where they differentiate is looks and comfort, for me the C7 cabin was beautiful but not roomy enough for long trips, the zl1 is perfect.

I am coming out of a '16 A8 Z06 and will be soon in an M7 ZL1. The Z06 was crazy fast but I just could not tolerate the automatic any longer. Really looking forward to a third pedal soon in a ZL1.

Traded a 2010 ZR1 for my 2017 ZL1.
The ZR1 will beat you like a baby seal on a long trip. |

Traded in a 17 GS with stage 2 aero, that car was way to slow especially with the aero, I was negotiating a z06 when they offered me a look at the zl1, drove it and never looked back.

Very interesting. Please share us more about your drving experience comparing your GS compared to your new ZL1. Both look like great choices.

Especially curious about the acceleration difference between the two.....from a stop and also when you "hammer it" from a roll at highway speeds. Also, what transmissions, manual or auto ?

Well, I'm not sure. I like the tech and all but I don't need it either. May I ask your reasoning on going to a ZL1 from your C7Z?

I'm considering it because I'm becoming more of track guy and the A8 can't keep up and it appears the A10 can and the ZL1 performance wise is about 95+% of the Z06 and it'll save me about 30% (that doesn't hurt either!!)

The GS was super nimble, I drove it very hard at all times, I just wished it had more power, it is an awesome car, I felt more comfortable pushing it to the limits than I do the zl1. Not to say when you push the zl1 you really feel that you are no where near the limits. Both of my cars were manual FYI. What made me angry about the GS was that essentially I was having fun in "mexico" and a bolt on 2014 5.0 mustang was right at my door, I said to my self no where in hell did i just spent 77k on a car to keep up with a car I had years ago. I currently have a rotofab CAI on the zl1 and anything that has ever came close to me in the GS I blow out the water in the ZL1 More mods coming soon. |
