Consensus is that the Goodyears run GREAT when hot, whereas a lot of other tires, especially in the Max performance category, lose grip when hot. Since you track your car, maybe the Goodyears would be a decent option. There's probably a good reason that Chevy picked them as the tire for the 1LE. You probably won't find a better track tire unless you go to the Competition DOT category. |
Thanks for the info and link. There was some good info in that thread. I was planning on just replacing the G2's with another set of G2's because they worked great for what I was doing. Unfortunately tire rack is out of one of the rears. I wonder if Goodyear is no longer making the G2's?
