What, re engineer the alpha chassis? It is a concept, you can say these comments for just about every concept car out there because the point of concepts is not to deal with these issues. This concept can easily be modified to work on the alpha chasis but the point of the concept isnt to be that realistic at this point. The first step of a design is exagerated to get a feel for the character and design direction, then it gets worked out to meet realistic form. I feel those comments are better suited for a pre production design. Then the concept evolves into the production version to address the obvious design flare and bring into realty for production. If this was designed as a ready to buy off the lot desinpgn then i agree but it is far far from that.
Just look at any designer, whether a fashion designer, architect, or car designer they all start with rough sketches that might not be realistic and then refine and try different things until it is funtional. This is rough concept. Check out this link for design insight, that sketch on the first page that has e same issues as the concept here was refined and built....
