Well, I've been using Escort radars for 17 years. They are rock solid and I stand by them. Not sure what their problems are but I am sure if they read their owners manuals that can cut down on many of their problems.
I've driven right besides cars with blind spot monitoring and looked at their side view mirror for the indicator. It's on and my detector is silent.
I doubt so many of them actually have real problems with their detectors. Don't forget, mine is 7 years old now. Most of them probably have the newer one which is the 9500i. When my detector was made few cars if any had radar sensors all over it.
