What do you mean by alter the wheel? Did you try adjusting the wheel setting separately?

Also make sure you leave climate to AUTO for remote start. It may run the AC for a moment to kill condensation in the system. Also for the air constantly blowing, cycle your Recirculation button. GM and several other manufacturers uses constant air to keep mildew in check. I think I remember someone saying toggling it will kill it. Don't forget to turn on remote heated seats in the vehicle personalization menu.
