That would be a huge blunder on Chevy's part if they just threw something together from scrapped designs and then had to explain to the public that it won't be for sale.
And actually this looks like a natural evolution of the 2014 design. They narrowed the grill significantly for the refresh and this one has practically no grill at all. This also uses the same tail lights as the refresh.
