What you say was true...
initially. I can't seem to find the numbers right now, but I recall seeing somewhere that the V6 sales far surpassed the V8 sales quite some time ago. The initial demand was for the SS, but once all of the "early adopters", which were largely
enthusiasts, got ahold of their SS's, the V6 sales percentage grew substantially. That largely invalidates your argument.
