First Choice, let the dealer tear into the motor and diagnose the knock (btw shouldnt take 6-12hrs) and allow them to repair the knock which I believe the repair comes with a 1year/12,000mile warranty.
Second Choice, Buy a crate motor through GM (This is what I did) and allow the dealer to replace the motor completely which comes with a 3year/100,000 mile warranty.
Third Choice, find a reputable engine build shop in your area that can do the V6 work (cheapest option) no added warranty

General Crate motor Cost without labor: $4,399.97

Even the motor repair by the dealer is upwards of $3k
Man what a waste of $1800 on the chains.

What I don't get is that there was no knock like this when I brought it in and now its a loud knock.

Can it be something simple like sparkplugs or bad fuel?
