Usually poor form to revive old threads that do not already answer your question.
Running cables under the center console can be done by stuffing it up under the seam, but it's a poor option that usually leaves gaps and pinches the cable. Removing the center console entirely allows for the new cables to be routed alongside factory cables (and secured to factory cables every 6"-8"). It also allows for clean holes to be made in the console plastic for wire routing.
If you're just trying to get USB to a location, you can get a 90 deg USB C to USB C cable that can connect to a USB C power supply in the factory socket. It's as tidy as you can get without making something custom underneath the console.
