We haven't seen any mid engine mules running around and, with GM never having built a production mid engine car, I'm sure they would have to do a lot of testing.
Until I see a mid engine Corvette Zora ZR1 on stage I won't believe it. Same goes for a Camaro with the full potential of the LT4, as it sits now.

It wouldn't be on a C7 chassis. They are thinking on making a "family" of corvettes and the Zora/Zr1 would be on a C8 platform. (according to this months Motor Trend (page 20)).
