I'd actually rather have the old fashioned LS pushrod engine design than the new 5.0 in the Mustang. The new crop of high tech, high revving DOHC engines make big power numbers, but completely lack low end torque. The 5.0 may make over 400 horses, but its a peaky engine that doesn't come close to the LS3 on the low end.

You can only make torque two ways, displacement (as in the LS3), or forced induction (as in the EcoBoost). And the only way you'd get me to buy the latter type of engine would be if it came with a 200K mile warrantly on the Powertrain and turbo.
