I'd only turn the device off when I park it and turn the ignition off and then on again before I start the car. No way would I try to turn the device on or off when the car is on or in motion. Plus it allows me to leave the device off and drive the car should I decide to let AFM operate normally say like a long road trip where I would want it for the gas mileage.
