The movie comes out a 1 yr from now. By that point, the new Mustang will probably in the showrooms (or nearly there). Sticking a mock-up of the next Camaro in a movie like Transformers makes a lot of sense. Obviously, the Mustang is going to be getting a lot of attention next year. GM is going to need to crank up its own advance-publicity machine for the Camaro.
Count me in the minority that thinks this looks pretty good. I think it looks like a leaner, meaner version of the current car.

The nose reminds me of my '05 cavalier. It's definitely a striking look but I'm not sure if it's the good kind.
Make no mistake, this IS what Chevy has in mind for the next Camaro. You don't buy into a 150 million dollar advertisement that's going to be distributed worldwide with toys and merchandising, etc. and not put in your intended design.
Oh well just just makes my 2012 that much more of a classic.
