It seems odd that GM (or Ford for that matter) would build a Pony car for Europe with high car taxes and $9/gal gas. Sure the quality and performance should be on par with European cars. Pony cars make sense in the US and other places with similar running cost structures.

A lighter car that does not sacrifice room, crash worthiness, or style would be great. I could also see a scenario where the current car lives on with the LT1 and styling tweaks while a Code130r based car is tried out in the market.
