Look at the Corvette. How long before production was it released at an auto show? How long prior did you start to get performance specs?

It's always a balance between giving out information that would make you think about buying a competitor but also not make you wait from buying the current car.


Keep in mind our friends in Dearborn revealed a "finished product" without "full disclosure"...because they were still finalizing exactly what the finished products would be. In content as well as specifications.

Number 3's timelines, based on his experience and recent GM history, are reasonably accurate...

As has been mentioned, when basing a "new" product on an existing platform, the chassis and component development can be "public" without "flopping your cards"...
