Your fist coment I agree with cleaner wax had no place in this post, but some times as a post goes on you loss site of the OP.

Your second point I disagree unless you never touch your paint even with the best washing and drying practices there will be some damage, cleaner wax and polish will remove light damage and clean the paint giving a better finsh and better adhesion of LSP.
