A lot of people change it way more often than needed, if that makes them feel better then I say go for it...it doesn't hurt anything but your wallet to change it more often, but it also doesn't hurt anything to follow the DIC monitor either... that's why it's there. If you follow it for oil changes you won't have any problems.
