Standard troubleshooting is in order. Bring the USB back to your PC and play the same songs that have static in your car. Rule the tracks out first. Play the same USB in your wifes car, friends car .....
try another USB, try another version of the .mp3, maybe .flac or whatever.
I have several thousand .mp3's and have never heard this. good luck.
