Thank you pyroguy and gpskinzhut, your input here was invaluable and helped me settle some 6 months of turmoil.
I've decided to pass on the brakes since I wouldn't want to pay to replace them if I ever needed to, and their fragility during maintenance makes every visit under the chassis unnecessarily stressful.
Beautiful as they may be, their long-term cost is currently prohibitively expensive when it comes to upkeep, even if the upfront cost is comparatively low (compared to market price for the same brakes).
