I hope they mean global car by having a better interior with better materials, not giving up what makes the car a Camaro to chase a few extra sales over seas.

Because, as far as I know, the ATS isn't getting the LT1. The LF3 is basically the LT1 for Cadillac.

What is the benefit of the LF3 in the Camaro?

It makes no sense to have the LF3 in the Camaro. It's about as big and heavy as the LT1 and probably costs the same, yet produces less power, torque and is less efficient. It would have to be built...
