I believe the bolt and nut are solely for installing the metal bushings while the shifter is still in the car. If I read the instructions correctly, the pin and clips are re-used.

Hurst Shifter Bushing Upgrade

I am contemplating installing these upgraded bushings to correct some of the slop in the Hurst shifter in my 2011 SS. The shifter was installed by the previous owner and has 50,000 miles on it.

Just an observation...

If I roll out to about 15 in first and roll on the throttle pretty aggressively putting it to the floor, the rear end will get light and break traction around 4k - 4.5k.
