You could go without clearcoat and polish the resin. It will still have a good look, just won't have as much depth. Or you could go with you latter comment, I'm sure you could get the parts cleared...

That doesn't look too bad. I would block sand it with some 220 grit to smooth it out, then add another couple of layers of resin. That will help level things out.
