Who's ready for the 6th GEN. Camaro??
Ok, starting off its going to be almost impossible to beat the 5 Gen. Camaro in style, performance, and overall period. I love my car but with this style going into its 3rd year there is ALOT of these thing floating around now, which is awesome that so many folks are able to afford and enjoy this great car. BUT I myself am ready for something new that I dont see in every parking lot that I go. Kind of like when the 2010 s just came out. Who feels like this? And do you think the 6th gen. will stand up to all are expectations? Or will GM cut there throats with it? :iono:

I feel the same way... I like that the camaro is becoming popular and sales are good. But is like to drive something I don't see on the road everyday
|
Its a popular, mass produced car. The 6th Gen, if successful, will flood the roads in a short time just like the 5th gens have. So if thats your ONLY reason for wanting the 6th gen its not a good one imo haha. As far as performance im sure it'l improve. If all they did was cut the weight down a couple hundred pounds would help alot. I dont think the overall style will change, just a bit of a facelift. But thats my .2 cents. And about am I ready for the 6th gen? Considering I dont have my 5th gen YET. No, Im not ready. lol

I'm guessing they will work to improve the following:
Weight reduction Overall size of car to be a tiny bit smaller Move the headlights forward(not so recessed....bad aero on this car due to this) Blind spots/driver overall visibility HP increase to appx 450 in V8 Supercharged option from factory? Fuel economy Better base suspension Modernize the interior and exterior and go away from the retro look Slightly larger trunk opening relative to the trunk itself Improved engine bay layout/appearance |
This might sound lame, but I literally don't see any way they could improve it cosmetically. I think the body design is absolutely perfect. Performance enhancements are inevitable, and that's great, but I have no issues whatsoever with the way mine performs. I might eat my words later, but I personally am not excited about the 6th Gen models.

I suspect it will be a series of minor cosmetic changes, similar to what ford has done with the mustang for the last 8-9 years. they came up with winning looks, i doubt they would trash all the design and start fresh.
also, there is no hint of a next gen design anywhere. both the camaro and corvette designs have always shown up as concepts years ahead of time in the past. |
Probably changes in weight, v6 hp, and interior.

I think you guys are right for the most part, Chevy will not change the body style drastically with the 6th generation, but it still needs to have some body style differences.
I found these 6th generation pics floating around on the internet. They kind of cue to the 2nd generation Camaro as far as the front fascia, rear circular tail lamps and the more sloped rear window. What do you think of it? I think it's unique in it's own way. Considering they paid homage to the 1st generation, now they are moving towards the second generation camaro. :headbang: |
