My metra kit install
Just installed my metra DD kit today along with a 6.2 inch clarion headunit with nav, dvd, ipod interface.....
Took about 3 hrs total, and most of that was just soldering and heatshrinking the wires together. Also, I installed a break bypass, in case the passenger would like to watch a movie while the the car is in drive. Let me know what you guys think. And, if you have any questions about it The mess of wires:http://www.camaro5.com/forums/pictur...ictureid=58909 cutting out behind the stock head unit http://www.camaro5.com/forums/pictur...ictureid=58910 installed and looking nicccccccccce http://www.camaro5.com/forums/pictur...ictureid=58911 |
Good work. The dash kit looks better at night when illuminated.

The only thing that I'm worried about with the Metra kit is the rubber buttons... I had an old Pioneer radio that looked like it used similar buttons and they wore away after about a year, to the point where there were holes in them and they stopped working... I'm wondering if anyone has had any similar issues with them yet.

planing to do the same install when the alpine dash kit comes out. How much cutting did you have to do behind the stock unit?
|
is that similar to this one?
