Will The 6TH Gen See 650-700HP

It would be nice if the top Camaro(ZL1) 6TH Gen has 650-700HP whether it be SC or Turbo.

The new ZR1 has been rumored to be a twin turbo version of the new LT1. I would guess that a version of that will reach the 6th gen Camaro. As far as output is concerned we can only speculate. If the LS9 put out 640 hp then I would think this new turbo motor has to put down close to 700 with direct injection and twin turbos! Knowing GM I would guess a slightly dialed back version would be somewhere over 600 but under 700 hp. Whether it is a turbo set up or if they stick with the same Eaton blower set ups in the current LSA/LS9 motors.

I'm hoping the C7Z06 stays with the 7.0 L displacement and it ends up on the 6th gen Z/28.

If there is a 6th Gen ZL1 it may stay with 580hp range as it will be on a lighter platform.

Yeah, I'm going with not, that Chevy has been telling us for a while that everything will be moving towards lighter, so you may end up with a lower horsepower, relatively speaking, top model that out performs current models because of weight and engineering. But I have no clue really. Fun to guess about it.

Exactly, same power range but lighter car wouldn't hurt my feelings. And you know we will all mod it anyway no matter where it starts at

It will still be a twin screw and come in around 650hp.

There wont be. ZL-1 was only a 1969 car and I'm pretty sure GM will discontinure it from the line up and have as a premier 5th gen only car. As for a Camaro having 650-700 HP? I'm going to bet no 6th gen model will be near those numbers.

Well, the ZL1 was built for more than 1 year for the 5th gen. Plus, I doubt GM wants to give up the supercharged segment to Ford with the success of the ZL1.

Who knows if Ford will stay with superchargers? Everyone may go with turbo in the future as it is more efficient

Something everyone needs to understand, v8 muscle cars are going to be dinosaurs in a few years, so enjoy what you have, get ready for turbo 6's and 4's

the V8 will never die nothing can replace that HP/torque and feel that big engines give.

especially now that the USA is back in the oil business.
