No handbrake on 2016 Camaro

Watched a review where they talked about the absence of the handbrake lever like it was a good thing. ..:emoticon1:

It saves space in the center console.

There is no fail on this decision.

i don't plan on ragging my Camaro so no need for a hand brake - i'm very happy with this NO FAIL e-e-brake.

I'm glad they used the electronic brake, cleans up the interior

Next thing you know it'll be semi autonomous. Besides, it's a good feature that allows you to flex your arm for the ladies!

I don't get why people keep bringing this up as a problem...it's the e-brake...for crying out loud.

It's a problem if they haven't fixed the poorly executed hill hold feature on the manual cars. One click on the traditional handbrake deactivates it without actually applying any braking action.

If it bugs you guys that much go buy the yaw sensor for the automatic transmission and swap them out. Bunch of 5th gen manual owners have done this and it works like a champ. Eliminates hill start assist completely.

It would be nice if GM would have actually engineered the feature properly to begin with. I shouldn't have to go to the trouble and expense of fixing their screw ups. Before anyone gets defensive, I still love my car. I just wish GM would have paid a bit more attention to this.

They probably went to the electronic emergency brake to save space or due to space limitations on the smaller car. That said, I prefer the hand emergency brake. In the event one loses braking, one can use the hand emergency brake to feather the rear brakes to a stop. I'm Not sure the e brake is capable of such.

I just do not like the e button thing. Same with Acura and Honda, they are doing away with the shift lever and replacing it with the little e buttons on the consoles.

Initially I first learned how to drive in a city that was all up or down hill and I drove stick (no hill hold). I used the mechanical e-brake handle like training wheels to learn where in the travel my clutch starts to engage for hill starts. I havn't used an e-brake to hill start in decades, and I dont roll back.
Unless you want to drift you should be able to get by with the E-e-brake.
