6th gen awd camaro. would you buy?

Idk if there is a thread on this yet or not. Just curious if anyone would buy an AWD Camaro. Its on the Alpha platform which is used on the Cadillac Ats. I think it would be a respectable option and I think I actually would buy one since I live in the Midwest. Just my opinion...

FenwickHockey65 05-09-2014 06:20 AM

I wouldn't hold my breath.

ssrs2lt 05-09-2014 06:49 AM

awd would be perfect don't know if it would hold up to the torque..

MMC 05-09-2014 07:04 AM

Not in a million years, buy a Subaru if you want AWD. :chevy:

Jason@JacFab 05-09-2014 09:48 AM

I would have no interest in an AWD Camaro. As MMC said above, if I want an AWD car, I'll buy another Subaru

lbls1 05-09-2014 10:17 AM

No.

macwest 05-09-2014 10:23 AM

No, By the GTR if you want AWD.

DSX_Camaro 05-09-2014 10:25 AM

Nah, let alone the fact that it won't happen. Dodge has an AWD Charger, not an AWD Challenger. If you want to hold you breath, maybe they'll make an SS sedan with AWD.

MikeT 05-09-2014 11:35 AM

No, I wouldn't buy one, and I wouldn't want one.

However, I'm not philosophically opposed to the idea of offering such a vehicle for those who want it. If the demand for AWD exists among a minority of Camaro buyers, why not give it a try? If it doesn't sell in sufficient numbers, then scrap it. I don't buy arguments that an AWD option would 'dilute the brand' or 'confuse the identity' or some such.

ryzrs10 05-09-2014 02:36 PM

yeah torque work be a problem. But im perfectly happy with my 2ss and wouldn't trade it for nothing. and there's no way in hell I would ever buy a Subaru

V8 through a manual transmission to the rear wheels is all I will ever drive.

Really?
How do you think increased sales of new Camaros will benefit you and other Camaro owners ???
Better yet, why don't you ask Australian Holden owners how the poor sales of Holdens that led to the end of Holden Australian Manufacturing is/will affect them?

Oh, and the building of a V8 Camaro alone would turn off a lot of would be owners who are more eco friendly and want higher mpg cars, don't have as much $ to spend on gas, don't have as much $ to spend on the higher HP engine (and all that goes with the larger powerplant, ie: beefed up axles, trans, diff, driveshaft, etc etc etc). So GM HAD to build the V6 to bring the V8 to market. They need to capture all genres of the market. Male...female...higher and lower income, gas guzzlers, and gas sippers, (you name it), ...etc. They are getting their markets covered. But the AWD option was previously NOT possible. By building an AWD Camaro, they are opening the possibility of bringing more people to the GM Camaro brand and thus creating more sales which....indirectly effects us current Camaro owners. Do we want to see the Camaro DIE OFF AGAIN??? No. So would it affect me if they gave the option? Indirectly, yes. And if they do, directly, yes....cause now I have another section on the forum to monitor....lol...

Would definitely buy one if AWD was offered as an option... could then drive it year round.
