so many juicy parts. I'll bet those things aren't in any pick-a-part type junkyard though.

That'll buff right out.

Could be in the case of the SSs pictured that 455HP was a little much for the drivers? :iono:

You can't even find 5th gens at the pick a part yards yet. If you do happen to get lucky and find one, it's a burned out shell or it's in the new "late model parts yard" where they rip you off by charging you more to get in and nearly full retail rip off price for the parts you find .

They have lots of early 4th gens though.

what junkyards are these?!?

fastball 05-11-2016 09:51 PM

Junk yards have come a very long way in relatively short time in the last 20 years or so. My first car was a 1985 Regal my Stepdad gave me in 1996 when I was 19. He bought it brand new. It was my car through college and as such I had to keep it going on my budget. So I bought a wiper motor for 10.00 and a rear bumper for 50.00 from a huge, well known junk yard in my area that's been there since the 1930s.

In the 1990s it was "walk back with your own tools, find what you need, pick and pay"....... Today? They haven't got a single car sitting in the rear yard! Every junked car that comes in now gets stripped down to the last usable and sellable screw, every part inventoried and stocked in the warehouse, and the rest that isn't useable is sold by the pound as scrap metal.

Gone are the days of searching for treasure at a junk yard. Now they're used car parts stores.
