I have a feeling thats exactly when they introduce the Z/28 in the 6th gen. I wouldnt be surprised if they limited the amount to 602 cars as that of '67. Who knows? Produce one that is 500+NA HP stripped out and I'll be getting one. I'd love the bumble bee stripe to come back and have it look as good as it did back then! The 5th gen it looks ok on them but its too pointed to have one.

OldScoolCamaro 06-10-2013 08:52 PM

....I think that's way off track, what sense would it make to make a Z28 next year and drop it without any lineage going forward, for no reason. Then, re-introduce it at a later point? No sense at all.

Boy does this topic take me back..... oh 12-13 years.

I always wanted a Corvette, and decided to wait until the 50th Anniversary to buy my dream car.

All kinds of rumors of big power, redesigns, limited production.... afterall this is Chevrolet's flag ship....

And what did they do..... google it, I can't live through the let down agian.

I did love my Corvette experience, went to the assembly plant and built the car, museum delivery... 50th caravan... great memories, but I did not pay $5000 for the 50th edition. My Electron Blue looked great, was built to MY spec and the badges still read 50th on them..

However, I'm not looking forward to waiting a couple years..........

I bet it's not. The 50th will likely be the last 5th gen (2017).

30th Corvette... LOL, didn't exist (no 83... Well there is 1)
50th Corvette... Last C5
60th Corvette... Last C6
25th Camaro... Last 3rd gen
35th Camaro... Last 4th gen
45th Camaro... bastard
50th Camaro... Think about it...

2014 mid cycle refresh.
2010-2017 is only a 8 model year design. Same or less than most.
Plus the anniversary car is a good way to boost sales of a exiting body style.

I think at 50th Z/28 would be nice - as long as they have another 50th edition version that most people can actually afford. :)

Exactly. The 50th anniversary edition Corvette was gross. All 2003 Corvettes had the 50th badge. I was on that too. Thought for sure the 50th would be special. Nope. :(. Ended up with a Yellow one. Then traded it for a C6.

25th Camaro... Last 3rd gen
35th Camaro... Last 4th gen
45th Camaro... Not last 5th gen

Having two anniversary editions in the same gen makes no sense.

Ok. So you think cars should change every 5 years? Ok

The 55th and 60th Corvette would have been the same C6 but there wasn't one. They did the 45 bc the 5th gen is inundated with special editions and it sells cars. Slap on a stripe and a badge and ppl pay more.

Time will tell but GM just retooled for the 2014. They're going to run it a few years.

The 20th and 25th Anniversary Camaro's were both 3 gens.

Yea, his argument is invalid. There will always be multiple in one generation. Plus, the 45th never should have been. It was only to boost sales. Same with the 35th. No disrespect but who cares. (I love your 02 BTW :))

25th, 50th... Those should be special.

The 50th Corvette was a dud. Hope they don't make that mistake again. 60th made up for it tho ;)

Silverlsinva 06-11-2013 04:08 PM

I think the 50th will be a 6th gen car 2017 model year yeah that's not 5th gen at all, The mustang is coming out next year as a you really think Gm will be like oh we will wait 3 more years till we come out with a redesign to compete I don't think so. I think late 2015 or early 2016 is when the 6th gen will come out then the 50th edition will come out.

MYDLIFECRISIS 06-11-2013 05:21 PM

I did! LOL Although, the deal I got, I got it cheaper than most get a 2SS for. :)

I doubt the 5th gen will make it to 2017. The Mustang is switching to the next gen in MY 2015.

It's just my opinion. It's a good marketing move to sell an outdated car.

Wizard1183 06-12-2013 07:06 AM

2017 will be a 6th gen. BANK on it!

Chubby 06-12-2013 12:20 PM

Ok

People paid more for the 45th edition? The 45th package was pretty much the same as the rs package. Except you got different rims on the ss where the rs package doesn't change the rims. No offense but whoever paid more for the 45th than any other camaro with the rs package deserved to get had.

45th imo was absolutely nothing special. 50th should be! Will it? Probably not.

Why do you always insist on limits to production numbers of certain models?

Always insist? What are you talking about? How many times have I said there'd be a limit ona model? This is probably the first. :smm7:

You said the 6th gen and 5th gen Z/28 will be along with the ZL1 being limited to the 5th gen.

PoorMansCamaro 06-13-2013 10:10 PM

With the camaro moving to the Lansing plant in late 2015 to early 2016, I find it hard to believe they will produce a 5th gen and then retool everything for the 5the gen a year or two later...

EXACTLY. Why would set up to build the 5th gen only to have to make changes in a few years for the 6th gen. That would be a BIG waste of money.

Camaro_krazee 06-19-2013 07:21 PM

keep the 50th anniv edition "wish lists" coming. I know we're a long way off from even being able to order one, but talking about what it will look like and what it will have under the hood makes it seem more tangible, yanno? LOL!
I'm also hoping in addition to some retro colors, they put some awesome rims on it. Kinda over the polished aluminum and midnight silver we've seen since 2010.
