The Z28 what could have been....

Now that the lengendary Z/28 will be released, how about those whom were born in a era when they knew a Z28? A T-top 6 Gen Z28? Not I take anything away from the Z/28 or ZL1 but it could be done...I wished the Z28 returned however, but GM did a switcheroo and went back to the heritage of the Z/28.

I ended up driving in a neighborhood where my cousin lives and spotted this t-top Z28 and just made me think, damn that looks sexy.

T tops are so ill. So is the targa top in corvettes

A clean 4th gen will always make me look twice.

The Z28 is like a Chinese knock off of the Z/28. It looks almost right and could probably fool the people who don't know the real thing but isn't quite there.

Yes, I drive a T top, M6 Z28 but I would never give up the Z/28 so the Z28 could return.

I love t-tops but unfortunately it sounds like t-tops will never be back. Considering no chance of t-tops, I'd absolutely love to see a targa top on the 6th gen. IMHO that is the biggest thing the 5th gen lacks -- IMHO the sunroof is no comparison to having a fully open roof right above your head but still have the structure of the hatch behind you.

When I drive with the windows down in my 5th gen, I feel like I could be driving ANY car... I don't feel like I'm cruising. But when I drive with the windows down and the t-tops off in my 4th gen, I'm cruising... If there's no targa top in the 6th gen, my next Camaro will be a convertible.

GM already said they can't do T-tops.

And if that's seriously the only thing that makes a Z/28 a Z/28, then...

Targa.....Targa.....Targa!!!

BigBlock69RS 06-02-2013 08:36 AM

T-tops went out with mullets...

Besides it kills the structure of the car making it handle similar to a vert which defeats the entire point of the z28

Never knew GM produced knock offs, lol. A Z28 is simply a daily driven machine. And I know we have a ZL1, but a Z28 would need to be NA.

T-tops in the 80s were the bomb, loved them! 2 79 Anniversary Trans Ams and an 85 firebird! I think on a Z/28 is a bit much but ok on the rest of the line.

No one said a t top is the only thing that makes a Z28 a Z28. I'm certain every Z28 isn't a targa version. How old are you?

Considering that's pretty much all your OP talks about...

Personally don't care for a top with a gaping hole in it. To each his/her own.

OUTATIME 06-02-2013 10:24 AM

Doesn't the corvette have a removable roof? If so, why can't there be T-Tops?
