maybe they are trying to keep blue as a low count, makes the other blues out there that much more desired maybe?

I love the KBM but I think they should expand the palate even more. I understand the unit cost arguments and bean counter mentality that GM has but I believe that they should offer the Camaro in far more colors even if it means extra cost. I'm a lifelong Camaro guy and this is 8th Camaro I've owned ranging from 1969 to 2013. In my opinion, over the years, the Camaros that were truly notable were the cars that had either unique colors, options, engines, or some combination. The system that is in place really doesn't allow for that anymore. For example, right now you can't order a magenta ZL1 convertible. Why? They are making magenta verts, and they are making ZL1 verts. I know it would be super low production numbers, but that's exactly my point. Why not a Synergy Green or KBM ZL1? Why not have the 427 as an optional engine in the SS? I would order one today and I haven't even taken delivery of our KBM car. Think about the cool and unique cars that could be built on the same production line with off the shelf parts and paints. I get that it would cost more, but GM needs to loosen up that corporate tie, charge a few bucks more and let people be creative.

It seems the people that pick Camaro colors figured out that people that do buy blue Camaros, buy dark blue ones.
We'll probably never know because they seem hell bent on never offering a medium/bright blue on a Camaro again. So WGAF anymore? If I were going to order one, it would probably be a medium blue, but well, guess that isn't going to happen. |
In '69 you could order a Camaro in four different shades of blue and two of green. Having choices is a good thing. So glad I own a ABM.

I love blue.
Blue Topaz Metallic is awesome. http://imganuncios.mitula.net/2013_c...9132957546.jpg http://imganuncios.mitula.net/2012_c...3776385343.jpg http://images.allamericanautomobiles...s/65067764.jpg |
Blue is by far my favorite color too. And mine happens to to be the new blue ray metallic which I love in the sunlight, but it loses all of its character in the dark. Even cloudy days people have assumed it's black. A couple shades lighter on the next gen would be an awesome addition.

Navy Blue Metallic needs to come back. |

And I would prefer the same Lazer Blue Metallic that was on my parents 2001 Equinox. The color had a bit of a flop to it and you could also see a "pearl" to it under the right light.

I see blue cars all over the place in SoCal. Cheap Hondas, Toyotas, Scion, Kia, etc. Tons of Toyota Speedway blue trucks around too.
the question is why do these cheap imports sell tons of blue cars, but the Camaro cant? Even the beautiful JSB corvette sold only a few ones... so with so many 'imports' cars on the road here, I take it that its not just a local thing? So, tons of import blue cars, but hardly any American built? Maybe its a lack of America interest? Even so, If the 6th gen is good looking, and better looking than the 2016 mustang, even if they don't make blue, I will just go out and have mine painted JSB again.... Heck, I lose a full month, while its being painted, and lose 4 grand, ( not counting a rented car for that time...) but in the end, if GM wont give us blue, then we must take the steps ourselves. |
The blue I saw on the ATS coupe is almost exactly the blue I want. It's a good looking color and since they are going to be built in the same plant, we might get that color on the 6th gen.

My first Camaro was a 1970 1/2 Mulsanne Blue, almost the same as 1969 LeManns Blue.
REMEMBER how we had to lobby GM to have the Aqua Blue available on the SS for 2010, was to be only on V6 model, so with all the preorders noone ordered starting in October, I waited until after Thankgiving when GM allowed the SS to be Aqua Blue. ATTENTION Fbodfather and GM, Marketing is wrong about BLUE, if you don't offer it how can we buy it to show you? I will keep my 2010, will buy a 2016+ when they are available in similar color, or might get a C7, the Aqua Blue could have been lighter, like Mulsanne Blue, but at least get a color out that's close. Has anyone noticed that Chevrolet's color is BLUE !!!!!!!! entire entry element at updated dealerships. |
This Blue ?
I love this truck! Find it on you tube, fricken' awesome:headbang:
