Rumor on 6th Gen Camaro: twin turbo V6

Its pretty much a fact that the next gen camaro will be based on the new caddy ATS platform, but rumors are he 3.6 DFI v6 will be replaced with a twin turbo 3.0 V6.:drinking:

I'll believe it when GM reveals the next gen camaro. Till then, anything I hear about the next gen I take with a grain of salt.

not gonna happen

They also said the gas will be unicorn blood only, the wheels can fold in making it a boat, they're also working on the ZL1 being able to fly, and the base V6 will be replaced with three gerbils on steroids chasing each other in the engine bay.

They can't do that. These guys already have it patented. They just use 8 of them rather than 3. Then 6 in the v6's.

Turbo would be nice, but I doubt it.

I definitely believe it will be based on the Caddy ATS platform. As it is now the LS and LT Camaros have a Cadillac CTS engine in them, and the ZL1 has the CTS-V engine.

You know how an Accura is a fancy Honda, and a Lexus is a fancy Toyota? Well I have always believed that a Cadillac is a fancy Chevrolet, so I don't doubt part of what shrinkdoc said at all. I also agree with rburns though, that we'll know when they release it.

It has been confirmed that the 6th Gen Camaro will be on the Alpha platform but as to what engines will be used on what trim levels is up in that air. I would not be surprised to see a turbo 4 in the base models but it would have to be something more powerful than 2.0l T that is in the ATS or it will not be competitive with what Ford has in the pipeline.

Yup, I can see the 4 being turbo. Rather, I expect it to be.

i don't see why they wouldn't use the LNF in the Camaro, with maybe better internals and a more aggressive tune to push about 275bhp stock.

The V6 might be a turbo, but I definitely believe that there will be a V8 this time around. It might be a smaller V8, but it'll be a V8...

There will be a V8 in the top trim levels (not referring it to as "SS" because rumor has it that might not be what it is called) like there always has been. The Alpha platform is designed to accommodate the new Gen V small block V8. Keep an eye on what is under the hood of the C7 Corvette to get an idea of what to expect.

The ATS-V will have a twin-turbo V6 so I can see it happening.
