Adams OTC?

CyberDan 07-22-2011 08:32 PM

Not sure where you could get Adams over the counter...

Meguiars and Mothers both make decent OTC washes.

Adams is great, but if you want to buy "OTC", I saw that our Chevy dealer has large bottles of Mother's in their parts dept for a reasonable price.

GM parts sells all you need ....some of it is rebranded Meguiars.

Any of the soaps you can get at Walmart work just fine. I use Meguiars, Armorall, Blue Coral, Turtle Wax what ever is on sale. My cars typically never get that dirty, so IMO I don't need any fancy brands ...

Don't use dish soap, unless you are stripping all the wax off your car.

I did a hand soap wash and some detail spray afterward using TurtleWax ICE brand and it looks better then the dealer floor, can't wait to get a wax in as well.

I'd have to agree with this entirely. They always say that whatever you buy, you just have to make sure there is a picture of a car on it (meaning no dish washing soap). Dish washing soap is good for dishes and making bubbles. Get yourself to a Pep Boys, Auto Zone, "Auto" section of a retail store, etc..., and you'll be fine.

Ok peeps, sounds good. Thank you all.

Finish off your wash with a detail spray, I personally use Turtle Wax Ice, works great ...
