As awful a show Hawaii Five-O is....

...they really showcase the Camaro RS well. I didn't know a V6 could do those things. It's like an advertisement that lasts an hour. Even scenes where the car isn't moving, they try to frame the shot to include that silver beauty in the background.

As for the show itself... truly, truly awful .

It's more of a CSI Miami knock-off than a true reincarnation of the original Hawaii Five-O.

Obviously Chevy pays a good chunk of change for the product placement.

Ironic that the show is called 5-0, as in Mustang GT.

I agree they do a great job at showing the car. I wouldnt say the show is the best but its not as bad as a lot of others out there.

I watch it time to time.

Hicompression 01-25-2011 12:50 PM

It got a little too campy for me...I quit watching it.

I have no issues with them showing the Camaro. A lot. :)

JasonK 01-25-2011 12:52 PM

I like how the car is constantly shifting gears. Listen next time it's on.

ex-SS-ve 01-25-2011 12:53 PM

never knew a v6 sounded like a v8. and in all the driving shots it sounds like they are driving in 2nd gear the whole time .

Jay_LHD3 01-25-2011 12:54 PM

I like the show... :iono:

...and the car! :D

RubyCamaro 01-25-2011 12:56 PM

I just like watching the car a lot................and the guys when the car is out of sight.

I just happened to catch one quick scene last night when the silver camaro spun around and stopped that jet just in time. That was pretty cool. Then 3 people popped out, guns drawn? Did they make Jin sit in the back???

Love the show, just for the car!! I'm thinking the car sounds are probably canned sounds, though. The first couple episodes that I watched, didn't see the car that much, but she's getting more screen time now.

tonyfred 01-25-2011 01:12 PM

The show is one of the better ones on tv now.

the Kolektor 01-25-2011 01:12 PM

I like the show myself. The Camaro is definitely getting more screen time.

Just to follow up on the Mustang 5.0, I liked this quote from Edmunds Inside Line.

http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...to-camaro.html

"Now, keen viewers of the show will also note that hottie cast member Grace Park drove a red Chevy Cruze and that the end credits read "Sponsored in part by GENERAL MOTORS," meaning that the show and GM struck a deal to have the company's vehicles featured on the show. $$$ trumps cleverness every day. I'd say GM was getting back at Ford for putting a Mustang on Knight Rider, but let's face it, GM dodged a bullet there."
