Cute thing is that the front of the 2 year old 130R looks strikingly like the new Mustang. Throw an Aston Ford-in Grille..

This is what happens when you design ala trend-du-jour... elements on everyone's cars start looking annoyingly similar. Much of this is obviously intentional. If a particular style is wildly (or even just moderately nowadays) successful everyone else starts trying to copy it to cash in on the style "trend" rather than put in the time and effort to compete with something original. Companies are so desperate for sales, many will do practically anything to generate revenue. Compare this to 45 years ago when muscle cars were born; there was absolutely no question what company's products you were looking at from Jaguar, Porsche, Ferrari, Lotus, Mercedes, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Cadillac, etc. Even though they may have been competing for the same market segment each manufacturer took pride in producing something that was uniquely theirs. They would have been embarrassed and ashamed to produce a me-too look-alike product to their competitor. That wasn't competing, that was plagiarizing.

That doesn't mean they weren't inspired by each other; they were but they still put in the effort to make their own products distinct. The same thing was going on in music. There were many bands on the scene, but there was no question about who you were listening to when you heard the Beatles, Beach Boys, Byrds, Moody Blues, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Eagles, Boston, etc. Now so much of the music scene sounds so similar it no longer matters who's actually performing; the songs, styles and music are so plastic and homogenized they're pretty much generic.

I'm encouraged by the C7; it shows a willingness to lead instead of follow and I hope that same spirit is alive and well in the Camaro design team. The new Mustang looks very safe and tame; no chances taken; nothing bold or exciting. That kind of approach never wins the gold medal. It may be good enough to take a silver or bronze, but the opportunity to take the gold is wide open now for the Camaro design team. I hope they really go for it!

I totally agree about the mustang playing it safe in design. I believe the design is not bad but it's not that I gotta have it design. The ball is in GM's court to make the 6th gen Camaro a stunner.

I'd have absolutely no problem keeping my 2014 Camaro if that's the new body style. yuck!!!

Fugly.....just plain fugly. No way I would buy that no matter how good it handles. Cant sit in something so fugly.

I really wish that the moderators would close this thread.

There's ZERO possibility of the new Camaro looking like this Frankenstein version of the Code 130R. This is just a waste of time.

The Front is what it would look like if Buick got there hands on it

After all this time, it amazes me that people still think this is any kind of clue as to what the 6th gen will look like. This thread needs to be locked and nuked.

It's mildly amusing at this point.

Next Gen Camaro

Come on man. How can you trash the next gen Camaro and you guys actually are owners? As a vette owner I have my eyes on several modern muscle cars and I am not a BRAND only car guy. I love them all and my daughter bought a 392 challenger in 2012 and has her eye on a 1968 Camaro resto mod in the next few years. I love the current Camaro, Mustang, Corvette Z06 and Challenger. Looking to buy in 2016 one of the above with pricing under $100k. If the Z06 is base $89k or next gen ZL1 with the Z06 LT4 engine or Challenger hellcat or GT500 or Mach1 all on my list. Test drives will get one in my garage. If my dream comes true and the ZL1 does have the LT4 there is no question its a buy especially from some of the renderings of the next Camaro.

How can we trash the next gen when we don't know much about it? The car in the OP is another concept GM made. It has nothing to do with the 6th gen Camaro.

I just threw up, and not just a little
