6th Gen Convertible...
One of the only things I miss about my previous car was dropping the top. Now that the pace is picking up for the 6th Gen, what do you all think about the convertible?
Will it be released in the first model year? Any chance of it being a hardtop? Does anyone even care, or are we too busy just being excited about a 6th Gen in the first place? |
I hope it is NOT a hardtop convertible, I have never cared for the look of the cut lines on the roof panels or how the profile of the roof looks in general.

I want a soft top:
-Make it like the Stingray where the roof rests on top of the rear deck lid. This will eliminate the need for drainage bags. - And have the folded roof get stored UNDER the rear deck lid - Make it so you can raise/lower it at speeds of 30/35 mph |

I hope they Camaro gets that as well, but it will depend a lot on the packaging and the $$$ The current Camaro would have required a unique trunk from the coupe to even have room for a separate panel. |
I'm looking forward to seeing the convertible also. I hope it comes out pretty soon after the coupe.

I would certainly like the option, but I'm more about the looks than performance. The die-hards would certainly despise a hardtop! |
hard top convertible for me..I hate ragtops, they never look right. They remind me of seeing a super skinny girl's ribs .

I'm not a convertible guy, so I don't have a dog in this one.
However, let's keep in mind that Camaro pricing is usually pretty close to Mustang pricing (and vice-versa, of course). Not sure that I can see GM wanting to try to sell a hardtop 'vert that's at a significant price disadvantage to the ragtop Mustang. |

The C7 uses a separate tonneau cover and has at least since C5. You can see the track around the tonneau where the base of the top sits. |
