50th Anniversary Edition Camaro

Any rumblings on this one yet? I'm really planning on getting one, just hoping it's one heck of an automobile!
I'd REALLY like to see some throw back type features, like...

~A BEAUTIFUL Blue...like LeMan's Blue, Marina Blue Metallic, or another great blue from the 67,68,or 69 models.
~how about beautiful white leather seating surfaces as an option for those of us that are "all grown up"
~hidden halo headlamps...[think '69 Camaro], today's technology can make them work without a hiccup
~ updated 67 or 69-ish tail lights
~hp that makes people pay attention...
~throw back nose stripe and badging...

PLEASE CHEVROLET give us 1st gen lovers something to be proud of...I mean, after all, I was there! [yeah...I'm older, but not dead! I love a FAST & GORGEOUS car!]

What would you like to see incorporated into the 50th Anniv edition???

MyIBMssRS 05-15-2013 11:46 AM

I plan on getting a 50th anniversary as well. I'd love to see a dark green, like Fathom Green from the 1st gens. The new C7 color Lime Rock Green looks like a good match.
I'd also love to see hideaway headlights, but that's not going to happen from the factory. Government regs have killed that, that is why Corvette had to ditch the flip up lights when the C6 came out.
Factory houndstooth would be cool too! Or at least make the 5th gen seats fit in a 6th gen so I can keep my current interior!

I'm sure they will do a nice job with it whatever they come up with. I love every anniversary edition they have done so far. I like the white leather or houndstooth idea. A nice blue with white stripes would do it for me. I would also like to see the red, white, and blue Camaro badge make a comeback. It would be nice if they could give the anniversary edition it's own gauge facing, maybe in white. I'm sure they'll go all out for the big 50.

I too am looking forward to the 50th anniversary Camaro. Plus it will be the 6th gen AND on a lighter platform. :thumb:

However, I'm not looking forward to waiting a couple years..........

Still got a little over 3 model years guys! Lol but my guess is red with white stripes for color.

AdamZ 05-16-2013 11:33 PM

Not so fast

The power train R&D has already been given to Tesla Motors

onewaydave 05-17-2013 11:34 PM

I don't know that they'd repeat a color scheme. I'm pretty sure that's the combo used for the 2002 35th Anniversary Camaro. The stripes may have been silver, but I'm sure someone who owns (or has seen one in person) can confirm. I'd personally love to see a vintage first gen color brought back myself (LeMans Blue, [a real] Hugger Orange, Rallye Green or Daytona Yellow).

Slow down! I still need to get a 20th, 30th and 45th Anniversary model's first!!

Juiced1 05-23-2013 04:28 PM

I love the 45th...I'm sure they'll knock the 50th out of the park too.

All I pray for is a return to the classic blue and white color combo for the anniversary edition. That would be a homerun for sure. If not that, then my favorite color combo from the 3rd gens which would be a dark green/ tan combo. And definitely a factory body kit that sets it apart but isn't ostentatious like how the 35th was.

AmericanMuscleCars 05-31-2013 01:26 PM

Put a bugatti engine in that thing too!

KSCamaro 06-05-2013 06:15 AM

I'd like to see them not use Carbon Flash Metallic again until the 50th.

AdamZ 06-05-2013 06:17 AM

I already have a savings going for the 50th anniversary. Can't wait! It WILL be in my driveway no matter what :D

As long as they 1 up the 45th I think it will be amazing because the 45th was pretty sweet :D

IneedAZ 06-05-2013 08:13 AM

I would love to add a 50th anniv. edition to my collection as long as they offer a blue like they did in the first Gens just as the op stated. The ZL1 pace car is close to the blue from the early days.

PoorMansCamaro 06-05-2013 08:23 AM

it will be interesting which direction they go. will they go with another retro look, or move on to something else...

IneedAZ 06-05-2013 08:45 AM

Even if not retro look, the retro blue color is Sweet

Travis104 06-05-2013 09:22 AM

I have a 45th and a 68. My 68 is fathom blue...would love to have a matching pair

Same here on the savings fund - provided they don't '14 the 6th gen.

Silverlsinva 06-05-2013 03:02 PM

I think a 50th anniversary Z/28 would be awesome lets hope they come out with that.

Camaro_krazee 06-05-2013 07:13 PM

I'm so glad to see several folks are also wanting to see a return of the "blues" from the 1st gen. I remember one of the Camaro sales posters that my Dad had at the dealership; it was that gorgeous LeMan's blue! I kept that poster for YEARS...even took it to college with me to hang in my dorm room, next to the poster of the red Corvette!!!
Love me some bowties....since forever! :)

because it is the 50th anniversary, 1967 was the first year, its just like when you work somewhere and they lay you off for a year and call you back, you pick up where you left off:cool:

bw26ss 06-05-2013 10:01 PM

I don't understand your argument, in 2017 it will have been 50 years since the first camaro, hence 50th anniversary, i mean ford might as well have put the mustang on hiatus in the 70's as god awful as those were. And as a matter of fact i do know a company that shut down for 8 years and reopened.

It doesn't matter what we want if the color doesn't sell well. I just hope we don't have to pay $7000 extra for a nice blue in the sixth gen. Just another reminder that 2010 started with 10 colors for the Camaro and now we have 9. We lost a color and it doesn't look like we're getting it back. If we did it would probably just be another reddish, brownish metallic concoction. The closest we have to a nice blue right now is Dark Blurple and that's a shame. Maybe the production of the Camaro moving to Lansing will allow it to lay claim to more of it's own color choices instead of them being dictated by other models. I'm sure there will be other models built on the same line but I'm hoping the success of the fifth gen will give the Camaro priority for some real, brighter color choices.

elhefezl1 06-06-2013 06:51 AM

I will take mine in Hugger Orange with houndstooth please.

dorfmac 06-06-2013 07:57 AM

I do like metallic, but a metallic version of one of those old blues, white stripes, and white leather... Drooling.

Travisnd 06-06-2013 08:00 AM

I'd be happy with red to match my 25th Anniversary and 35th Anniversary cars!! :happy0180:

Why not be able to choose the color you want. I believe the 25th Camaro was not locked into any one color for the anniversary car. I want mine to be red, but I don't see why it has to be set to one color.

The 25th Anniversary cars had a limited # of color/stripe options.
