Hurst Billet/Plus Shifter for the 2016-2019 Camaro SS - Available July 1, 2016
Application: 2016-2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS with 6 speed manual transmission.
You heard it here first! Hurst is proud to announce that we will be releasing our Billet/Plus shifter for the 2016-2019 Camaro SS on July 1st. This is a NEW Billet/Plus shifter that we have designed specifically for the 2016-2019 Camaro SS with TR-6060 6-speed manual transmission. This shifter features a billet aluminum isolated stick design and is available with a classic white ball knob(part #3916031) or a modern black anodized pistol-grip handle(part #3916131). The shifter mechanism features a precision hardened steel pivot ball and CNC-machined linkage rod that provide a 40% reduction in shifter throw. We listened to the feedback that we've received from Camaro owners and have designed this shifter with performance and NVH in mind. Our extensive testing has resulted in a shifter that produces a solid, clean shift feel without ANY additional interior sound or vibration. Here's a preview of what's on the way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QjKUyZ11Rs |
Exhaust and driveshaft has to be removed to change out a shifter in these cars?! That sucks big time...

The install sounds worse than it truly is. In all honesty, it can be completed in about 2 hours from start to finish.

This mod is at the top of my list. Thanks Hurst! When can we expect it to appear on the website?

I love that white ball tool...would look great in my car. Might have to plan this out with my next set of mods. It's available right now at Phastek.

I placed my order with Phastek, they said it would ship next week. I'm really looking forward to a tighter shift pattern. I'm gonna do the skip shift eliminator while I'm under there.

Installed the Hurst shifter this weekend, I love it already. The 6gen stock shifter was similar to 5th gen, a welded assembly with plastic bearings that looks like garbage. Install wasn't too tough, not as easy as the 5th gen. Exhaust & driveshaft were straightforward to get out, but it was the retainer pins on the shifter mount that were the real pain for me. Even had to get Wife to help a little, and I never ask for help, unless I really need it. I am kinda slow and picky, took me a lot longer than 2 hours, no lift here, just 4 jack stands. But I think it's worth it. Shifts are super short now, and quick. I'll post some photos.
BTW, I plugged in the skip shift eliminator and it got real warm, almost hot, so I took it out. Is that normal for it to get almost hot? |
