How likely would you be to buy a 6th gen Camaro?

How likely would you be to buy a 6th gen Camaro right when they come out or shortly thereafter? Last estimate I saw was that it is going to be a 2015 car, so factor in that it will be available about 2 years from now.

I think because of the overall experience I've had with my 5th gen, I'm very likely to get one. I drive my cars hard and I'm talking a hard 20,000 per year. By the time the 6th gen is out I'll likely have at least 80,000 miles or more, hard miles.

I've also never loved a car so much, I'd probably justify the new car by thinking I'd relive the fun I had with my 5th gen + more because it should be a better car overall.. We'll see...

2010 SSRS 09-04-2012 10:24 PM

I will definitely buy a 6th Gen and I will also be keeping my 5th gen :chevy:

More than likely I will be buying a 6th gen, unless they raise the price a lot, then I will probably be looking into a C7 vette or 2014 viper.

mmartian 09-04-2012 10:25 PM

If they change the look drastically, not much chance. I love the look of my car. the next camaro I get would probably be a 1st gen.

damneighborkid 09-04-2012 10:28 PM

Keeping my 5th forever. I'll be buried in it.

That SRT viper is knock dead gorgeous. I will be keeping my fifth, but will be looking to buy a "Toy." If all goes well i might be looking at picking up a 2008-2010 dodge viper in the next 5 yrs, unless i really really love the sixth gen. If I do, ill be going with an SS, or hopefully a Z28.

For a long time I've wanted to take a car to the track and run a 13.x 1/4 mile. I can't do that in my car, but there are quite a few that would do it. I'll be in a position to purchase another car around 2016 and a camaro would be my first choice.

Off topic, does anyone know if the site owner owns camaro6.com?

Supercamaro64 09-04-2012 10:41 PM

If i could, i most definitely would be buying one. Id also be buying a lot of other things lol

Ilke the way you think $$$

tazz3 09-04-2012 10:43 PM

No i wont buy a 6th gen camaro...i want a 5 th gen camaro

ZL-Bee 09-04-2012 10:44 PM

All would depend on the looks of the gen 6.

midnighter 09-04-2012 10:45 PM

Nope. Keeping my 5th gen.

butters 09-04-2012 10:48 PM

Keeping the 5th. I think this will be one those cars people will look back on 30yrs from now and say, "that car was special", especially since cars will be running on AA batteries by then.

Nameless 09-04-2012 11:05 PM

Very unlikely I will buy a 6th gen. At least for the first few years of it anyway.

I look towards buying a house again in the near future as my next priority.

AdamEL 09-04-2012 11:13 PM

Nope. I'm way too attached to the way my car looks [and everything else about it]. I've said it several times on this forum - I can't see the Gen6 looking better than the Gen5. And I'll still be paying off my Gen5 then anyway. By the time I pay it off, I'll be way sick of a car note. Keeping this one until I die.

:word:

If the 6th gen looks anything like the pictures I've seen, not likely.

cbravoSS 09-04-2012 11:33 PM

I can't see myself buying a 6th gen the one I have on order is expensive enough. I'm very pleased with the styling of the 5th and I'm not so sure it will look as good once they redesign it. I could be wrong. I've let go of all my other muscle cars and now wish I still had them. I won't make that mistake with this one.

mikeSS 09-04-2012 11:38 PM

i do like this car. but i like to change it up. going with a foreign sports car next.

MY2012RS 09-04-2012 11:46 PM

Depends on what they look like...I love my 5th gen so the 6th gen would really have to knock my socks off

06_warrior 09-05-2012 12:14 AM

I really doubt i will buy the next gen. I can't see how it will be better than the current one. I will probably be still paying off this one and like someone else said i'll be sick of making car payments to start over again. Besides, i will just start to super charge my 2012 and make it more awesome than it already is. So my money will be going into my current 5th gen.

cactuseater 09-05-2012 12:33 AM

After the 2011 lemon convertible nightmare I have, I'm gone.

destroyerofu2 09-05-2012 06:00 AM

I have almost $50,000 tied up in my car and the wife said i am keeping it forever and if I die she is keeping tell she dies.
so no I dont see her letting me buy a new one, unless I can some how convince her that its for her??????? (let the planing begin)

clg_98ta 09-05-2012 06:12 AM

If it's a bit smaller and lighter I'll be all over it...

Wantconvertible 09-05-2012 07:17 AM

All would depend on the looks of the gen 6.
I would also keep the 5th

meissen 09-05-2012 07:22 AM

I'm planning on it - can't wait to see the concepts.

Rock-It Man 09-05-2012 07:28 AM

Yes I would, particularly if the next gen is lighter and smaller.

tonyfred 09-05-2012 07:49 AM

Just got my 2013 ZL1. Wont be trading for a long time if ever. Amazing car.

Grey Ghost 09-05-2012 07:50 AM

I actually would buy a 6th gen if I like the looks. I will have to wait and see what the final product is going to look like though. Not what people are guessing it will look like.

fbodyauto 09-05-2012 08:22 AM

I am already planning on it. I am going to be keeping my current car (2012 2LS) and get a 2SS 6-Speed 6th gen when they come out. My car should be paid off by then and it would be nice owning a 5th and 6th together!

red70tvhs 09-05-2012 08:41 AM

Id have to wait and see how the genV motor does. I love the ls series in every possible way and in my eyes it will be hard to beat. Add my love of the ls series and the aggressive styling of the 5th gen and il be sticking with my future 1LE for quite a while.

ShowSStopper 09-05-2012 08:52 AM

Not at all likely.

The only reason I bought this car was because I like the design. I don't see them making a better one any time soon.

Birm 09-05-2012 08:55 AM

Concept will have to BLOW MY MIND, kinda like this one did back in 08'. Outside of that I will probably go to a more cost effective DD and keep this one as a weekender.

heRS 09-05-2012 09:25 AM

They would have to really outdo themselves before I bite. I'm sort of holding out to see if any form of el camino comes out, then I'd be considering it.

SlingShot 09-05-2012 09:33 AM

Not sure, the thought of going through the whole ordering and allocation thing again is a big turn off. I wish we could just do the Tesla thing and bypass the dealer.

Rcfiddy1 09-05-2012 09:40 AM

No more GM for me.

TooCool5 09-05-2012 09:45 AM

I don't think they can top this 5th gen but we shall see...

radz28 09-05-2012 09:48 AM

I'm not sure another model can strike me as much as the 5th Gen has. I would for it to, but if it doesn't I have to get me a 5th in the garage before a 6th. The weight doesn't bother me, and that's really the only downfall to this generation. If the 6th manages to eliminate that, and keep all the positives and more, then it will be a no-brainer :D

Tom 09-05-2012 10:26 AM

NOPE... unless I win the lottery.

ajp 09-05-2012 11:01 AM

Depends on how my stock options do.
