GM's LT1 6.2 Intake Has ARRIVED!!! - Unboxing - 2016/2017/2018 Camaro SS/1LE

Have you been waiting for the GM Cold Air Intake? It's here! But you need to know a few things, such as it is only 37 state legal :confused0068:

That that I care, but will CARB give you any problems with the emmission inspections?

Michigan1LTRS 06-18-2017 10:02 AM

If you are right about the tunes being for emissions only, I'm not sure why anyone would bother having it flashed in a non carb state and no inspections. It just sounds like something GM had to do to comply with regulations.

@ Sladgehammer,
Do you have a part number? And do you know if the flashing works on EU Camaros?

WCoolBreeze 06-18-2017 11:41 AM

Do we have any idea as to when this will be available for CARB states, like California?

Hey Matt, are you going to install this CAI? Just curious to see if there is a change between the 2 previous CAI's you already tried out or had installed.

According to the TGMPG website, the tune is required to keep your warranty.

Ah yes, I had not considered that.

Matt you mentioned that the tune makes no performance difference, I get that. But I am curious if anyone has dyno'd a stock car with and without the GM CAI and what differences if any could be confirmed on just the product without the GM tune. As I anticipate a great majority of people will buy this, install themselves and never bother with the tune.

FYI for all, there is an extensive thread for this. No one has dynoed yet but it only just started shipping in the last couple of weeks. Honestly don't expect any difference gains than the Cold Air Inductions kit this unit is a copy of.

Thanks for the video. Since I'm keeping the warranty for a while, I may go this way.

Just bought a used 2017 Camaro and it has the GM Performance intake already on it (was a GM owned vehicle previously. Seems it was on there for quite a while. Car was on the dealer lot for about 3 months.) How would I know if it has the tune or not? I'm assuming it does considering where it came from, but... No clue.

I'm guessing I just need to take it to a dealership to see..?

Interesting. Must have been testing it. Dealer should be able to tell if flashed with the tune.
