Artic Blue Metallic !
Hi, i am gonna place an order on a 2018 1LE this week, i am torn between black or Artic Blue Metallic.
I like silver car but ABM are rare and impossible to find one in my area. It's a silver with a light Shade of Blue? for those who got the chance to see it ? Is it a good option for the Camaro ? What did You like or dislike about it ? Easier to keep clean than black for sure. Thank You |
It's nice, but a little "soft" for my taste. I do like the silver (not the arctic) in person though. I would never drive a black car; just wayyy too difficult to keep nice. Plus, all the 1LE black accents disappear.
If choosing between the two, go for the Arctic. Pretty rare color actually. |
I saw one at a dealer last month.
Looked silver when I first pulled onto the lot, but once up next to the car you could see the blue in the paint. Very subtle. |

Had a similar color on my 2005 Crossfire SRT-6. Was a bit feminine, not that that is bad, but I tend to like more aggressive colors.
That was a really fast car by the way. Was 420 hp (under rated by Chrysler due to agreement with Mercedes) supercharged Mercedes SLK AMG 32 under that Chrysler body. |
My mom's first two cars were that color, back when we were broke. I came to refer to it as PPB: Poor People Blue, and I detest it. The only uglier factory color that cars tend to come in, at least in my mind, is champagne. If it's between black and PPB, I choose black!

OP - don't listen to the haters. This board is full of "I used to own a Pontiac and thus have insight on your Camaro specific question/issue..." or insert any other unrelated POS car in lieu of the Pontiac.
The 1LE trim makes any color look great and arctic blue is rare and has a dynamic color. I've seen them several times but not in the 1LE. There are color threads somewhere, hopefully not polluted with other cars too much. Just go for it. |
I have Mosaic Black but I like the Arctic Blue a lot on the 1LE. I would just make sure to get rid of the gold badges and red taillights. The black is more menacing while the blue is more classy.

Arctic Blue looks fantastic on the 1LE with all the black trim. Very subtle, but stunning. There was a pic of a ZL1 1LE in that color posted recently (can't recall where) and it looked awesome.

Hey OP, check out the 1LE review by wrxfan on u tube. He tests an arctic blue one and talks about the color. Also shows some video shots of it. |
I have seen it in person and think it looks great. I would imagine it looks even better on a 1LE.

It's gorgeous.
I saw one during a track day a couple months ago...and depending on the cloud cover, the paint was either more silver, or more blue. It was a dramatic change. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=483669 http://www.camaro6.com/forums/attach...3&d=1486689541 http://www.camaro6.com/forums/attach...4&d=1486689541 http://www.camaro6.com/forums/attach...5&d=1486689541 |
Arctic blue is an absolutely stunning color. I'm a black car person and it hides the rubber marks from track days well but I would go with Arctic blue if I were you. Just make sure you put PPF on the 1/4 panels in front of the rear wheels as soon as you get it.
