Your lucky to have the rariest of all rare cars, a '76 Z28.

There was no z-28 in '76. It returned in '77.

Go complete retro, '69 Camaro in pro touring style.

Keep the traditional V-8, no AFM, at least 5.7L. Direct injection and a variable cam timing to improve mpgs. 3400ish lbs. SS version with the big V8. A V-6 version for the economy segment... More 1st gen size.

I'd bet if they went really retro, all the way toward a '69 like this, 100,000 + in sales volume easily.

No doubt. I will sell my SS for that on the spot.

They did amazing job on the 5th gen. Love mine! Not sure what a retro 2nd would do for me.

And as others have said, who cares about Mustang. That is and has always been one fugly car...IMO ;-)

davidcroft 04-20-2012 07:03 PM

what about a retro modern 4th gen?

Good idea. A retro modern Sebring, that's what everybody wants.

pistolgripcopo1 04-21-2012 10:51 AM

Talking about the Gen5. camaro being stuck in the 60's, What year is the current Mustang based on? just asking.

I must say I am amazed at the speculation on this website. If you guys wrote your congressmen as much as you speculated we wouldn’t have to deal with these standards that kills our favorite cars. I shudder at the thought of a FWD camaro but I will not be surprised when it happens.

Nomimated for best post in this thread (excluding this one)!

6th Gen to come in 2015???

I just hope to god the camaro doesn't look a thing like this piece of shit from a design student.

Don,t think we have to worry about that one getting off the table.

Gotta love students....so full of crazy, wacky ideas, and least until they graduate and either their supervisors or the world in general beats them down into reality.

this reminds me in back to the future when the predicted flying cars in 2012

Smart Line 11-14-2012 06:30 AM

all they need to do is give the hood some tweaks and put the zl1 suspension on all of them. (come up with new better for the zl1) and my guess new tail lights and new front end look.

and the concept looked like bat man car to me?

Think of all the bugs that concept car would be catching in the front-end.

SuperSport2011 11-14-2012 07:06 AM

They got a lot of pressure on them, they're gonna have to come out with something amazing in order to top the 5th gen. I really hope it's not gonna be something too futuristic but then again I would not be one bit surprised if it is and the way cars are being designed today it's only a matter of time before the camaro looks like some sort of spaceship.

Jonster 11-14-2012 07:11 AM

that car would look great if they unsmooshed it

CWI 11-14-2012 07:20 AM

:barf: Won't happen!

CAFE is going to have a lot to do with the design of all cars in a couple more years. I think the Camaro will be somewhat smaller and lighter to meet those standards and will have to offer a smaller FI engine.

GM Should just offer different engines to get around CAFE regulations and charge a gas guzzler tax on 5.7L/400HP or Above

1) A high gas mileage V6 matted to a 7speed auto
2) A performance V6
3) A gas mileage V8 matted to a 7spped Auto
4) A 302 Z28
5) 6.2L (or 5.7L if they have too..) SS
6) ZL1

If they are going to ruin the Z28 with a 302 like they did in the 70s with the 305 they might as well not even have the Z28 come back at all IMO

The birth of the Gen5 Camaro was such a huge deal, I know that GM won't take that lightly. The story behind the creation of our Camaros is truly awesome, and I know that the next gen will live up to the hype. And I highly doubt that it will be taken off the 2nd gen platform, but that's just my opinion.
And to each his own, but I don't think the 6th gen Camaros could be any sexier than the current ones. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I don't think that's gonna happen. If it surpasses the Gen5, I'd buy one. But I'm going to be hard to sell on that. I will not get rid of my Gen5 for it, though. I'm way too attached at this point...

You have a design here that is widely considered to be an amazing looking car, dont ruin it by trying to go backwards.

I feel the same!
