Wheel Swap between 5th Gen and 6th Gen (snow tires)

So I had a 2015 5th Gen 2LT RS for about 8 weeks before trading for the new 2SS. In that 8 weeks I ordered a set of winter wheels and tires for the car. The LT had the factory 20" wheels, but The Tire Rack recommended 18" wheels and Blizzak snow tires sized to maintain the factory rolling circumference. They worked great and looked good on the car.

Now, I have the new SS and since it will be driven year round I'll need winter tires/wheels for it. Does anyone know if the wheels I bought for the 2015 LT RS will fit the 2016 2SS? BTW, I just have the stock brakes on the SS, not the upgraded brakes. Hopefully the $1600 winter wheels/tires are interchangeable!

I think the SS comes with the Brembo brakes as standard - so those would be the stock option. What I have read in other threads is the 18" may not fit. 19" I think are designed to fit. But to add to the confusion, tire rack recommends 18-21" rims. I have the 2017 Camaro, and need to buy new wheels like within 24hrs or I will have no transportation!

Honestly it's going to be tough to tell. It really depends on the width, back spacing, spoke design etc. The easiest way and or best way to get a quick answer is to test for your wheel on a car with 4 piston brembos. The6 pistons are actually smaller in width, larger in circumference. There for sure are 18" wheels that clear the brembos, but without knowing the wheel type and if others have confirmed on 5th gen with brembo's, G8 w brembo or Gen 2 CTSV, it's going to be tough to answer! Side note: I have found that 5x120 wheels that clear M-Sport brake packages on BMW have had success clearing brembos.

I know that 18x8.5 Cadillac CTS wheels fit on the 2016 SS

Check out the wheels and tires section. There are guys with 6th gen SS on 18" wheels for snow. I'm not sure if the offset is the same. I'm pretty sure the tires will work.

Blazin- do a search in the tire section. Lots of threads. They should work.....but I don't know the spec wheels you have. I have 18 inch snows I plan to use on my SS when I get it...

There's a thread that went up a little while ago about the 18s...Tire Rack DOES recommend them and they fit fine but if you have wheel weights on the inner edge they will hit the plastic air shield thingies when you turn full-lock. So some 18s will work and some won't depending on spacing.

I am one of those people with the problem and will be having Tire Rack replace my setup to 19s just to be sure. Still a pain in the ass because I can't change wheels/tires in my garage because of space.
