Would it be wise of GM to release some info on the 6th gen????

As most of us know Ford has announced they are unveiling the 6th gen mustang in 6 major cities on December 5, 2013---------I figured to rain on Fords parade should GM release something about the 6th gen Camaro to steal the excitement over the 6th gen mustang??

I Think that Gm needs to show a teaser shot or give us something on the 6th gen to get the enthusiast response and feedback......

Well, to some extent, they've already done a little of that with the "we don't need no stinkin' four-bangers" bit.

I do predict that by the time the Mustang is hitting the showrooms next summer, we will be getting some good leaks. GM is going to want to plant the seed of doubt in the minds of the Mustang buyers.

Good idea. They did it to us with the GT500 announcement. Its time for a little payback.

I think it would be fun if on December 6th we got some kind of teaser. Maybe a picture of an interesting taillight could just happen to popup....

Something would be nice...but a teaser image I very highly doubt.

I'm thinking this car will hit the dealer lots sometime in mid 2015 so we are definitely not getting a teaser this early.

...too far out, recent history suggests a tight lipped approach by GM for any info prior to the official release of most new introductions, we have to sit tight and wait.

Being the attitude that Al has I doubt anything will be leaked or any info will happen. Its that whole don't be a follower which is great. It would be better to let them have their day in the sun then when it is time to smash them next year with the info while the cars are being sold to the public will be a better time release something.

Hell no.

If I were GM I wouldn't show the damn thing until a month or two before production.

Even Colorado's reveal last night was waaaaaay too far in advance.

WAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to far in advance.

They show us the truck and then tell us we have to wait nearly a year to buy the damn thing. Now that just plain sucks.

I'm thinking that's pretty hopeful.

I'm holding out for spy shots. I have a hunch they won't release anything until there's more pressure to do so. Someone spying a car getting tested might give them the boost they need. I think they'll test the car using ATS body parts to better hide the Camaro on the road.

All of this is speculation. I wish I had some news.

This.

I hate it when cars get revealed and then you realize they won't be on the dealer lots for a year or more. They should get revealed as close to release as possible.

ssrs2lt 11-21-2013 01:55 PM

GM should do some announcement regardless on 5 Dec.. Maybe a one day promotional offer..

DefianceDan 11-21-2013 03:24 PM

Why would GM make an announcement so far in advance? If they did, they might as well shoot themselves in the foot because no one would want to buy a 2015 model.
