Bad collision repair! HELP!

My 2013 SS was rear ended and had repairs done. The work initially appeared to be flawless. Within a week, I noticed paint rubbed off the interior of the trunk and rear bumper as well as on the bumper just below the bottom outer corners of the trunk (which should NEVER come into contact so all I could imagine is that when driving, the bumper was moving). Took it back to the body shop and they gave me a bunch of bull about the bumper not being adjustable and it must always have been rubbing there, which is laughable. I keep every inch of it pristine including the motor. There was NEVER an issue with the fit of the trunk. Despite all their suppositions, they agreed to repair it a second time. I went to pick it up and it looked hideous. They clearly tried to spot paint and made a mess of it. And they HAD adjusted the bumper height so there was at least a quarter inch gap between the rubber seal on the trunk and the bumper itself! And this time, they had the gall to try and blame it on the after market rear valance which has been on the car since the miles were in the hundreds (it now has about 43,000). I'm female, so of course know nothing about my own car...

So, I'm awaiting their call to pick it up and wonder if anyone can give me advice on what to look for to ensure the bumper is properly placed and secure. I'm aware there are multiple clips, including around the wheel well. But, I don't work on cars for a living. Other than maintaining it and changing oil, I'm clueless.

I'm anticipating that they will remove it and paint the entire piece, based on the fact that I was clearly irate, but again, I'm concerned they may have screwed something up in the removal/attachment. And I intend to take a flashlight, crawl under the car and check every possibility.

I want to keep this car til I'm an old lady, and have been considering storing it for a while, but I want to make sure they haven't screwed something up. I hate to even consider selling based on this. I imagine I wouldn't get what it's worth with all the upgrades I have in it.

Sorry for the rant and long-winded thread. ANY advice would be so appreciated! Thank you, in advance!

Did you go through your insurance to get it repaired?

Did they replace all the pressure clips? Often times more than not, they're a one time use deal.

This... if so, most guarantee the work for as long as you own the vehicle.

The question is did you select this repair shop or did the paying insurance company?
If you selected the shop the problem is between you and the shop. If the insurance
company steered or suggested that you use them, then the poor repairs becomes their
problem as well. Then the insurance company will have to make good if your not satisfied.

The Insurance of the driver who hit me covered repair costs.

The other driver's insurance paid.

I have no idea, but I'll find out. Is there a way to verify this visually myself? Thank you.

The body shop was on the insurance company's 'list of approved shops' so I did have to choose a shop based on this.

The shop has a lifetime guarantee as well. This is the third repair on $600 worth damage. I prefer not having to go through it again. I've no doubt they'll repair it, but if the bumper isn't properly fitted I'm looking at dealing with them over and over.

Thanks for all your replies.

Please answer the question: Why did you use this particular repair shop?
SIMPLE:
If you did, your problem. If the insurance company did, It's theirs.

Are you talking about the part of the trunk lid between the taillights? If so, mine rubs there as well. But only on the left side. It did it on my original bumper and it does it on my new bumper I installed after being rearended in January.

Ok, since it's one of their "approved shops" then in effect they suggested
you use them. I would call the insurance company (daily if necessary) and
make them get your car repaired to your satisfaction.
As an insurance adjuster I would never suggest a shop other than one the
vehicle owner wants to use. Once a company suggests a shop they become
involved in the quality of the repairs along with the repair shop. You can
always contact your States Insurance Commissioner who can explain that
to you and the insurance company that suggested you use this shop.

Yes, that's where it was rubbing on both sides, but more concerning was that a scratch and chip appeared on the bumper below each bottom, outer corner of the trunk lid. The trunk lid and that part of the bumper should never be in contact. I didn't have the issue before; had it been preexisting I'd not be here & wouldn't have needed to take my car back to them.

At this point if the small rub marks were all I had to deal with I'd be thrilled.

Thanks. It's really not an issue of them completing the repairs. This is the third time after all. I want it done correctly though. Aside from just wanting my car in the condition it was in previously, I don't want to deal with the inconvenience of taking it back again and again.
